The Sony FE 400mm f/4.5 GM OSS is an exceptionally light and compact super-telephoto lens of just 994 grams, designed to move with the action handheld. Sony FE 400mm f/4.5 GM OSS

The Sony FE 400mm f/4.5 GM OSS gets more out of your everyday super-telephoto photography. Weighing just 994 grams and with a compact housing, you leave the tripod at home and move freely with your subject. The lens is perfectly balanced for comfortable handheld shooting, so you are always ready the moment the action erupts.

As a G Master lens, it delivers exceptional image quality. The optical construction comprises 22 elements in 16 groups, including one ED element and three Super ED elements that counteract chromatic aberrations. The Nano AR Coating II suppresses reflections and flare, while the circular aperture opening with eleven blades produces a beautiful, soft bokeh and strong subject separation.

For fast-moving subjects, the XD linear motors provide lightning-fast and accurate autofocus, so you capture unpredictable moments before they are gone. Thanks to the internal focusing, the focus range limiter and the four focus-hold buttons around the lens, you stay in control, even during intensive use. With Linear Response MF and full-time DMF, you switch effortlessly to manual adjustment.

The Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation with multiple modes keeps your images sharp at long focal lengths, and with the function ring and the removable tripod collar (with 1/4 and 3/8 thread) you tune the lens to your way of working. The dust- and splash-resistant design and the fluorine coating on the front element make the lens built to go anywhere with you, even during demanding outdoor shoots.
